What is PR?
PR is the abbreviation of “public relations,” the communications discipline through which an organization manages its relationships with the media, the public and its stakeholders in a planned way. Unlike advertising, PR does not buy visibility; it earns it through news value and trust. Well-designed PR grows awareness, reputation and trust at the moment of decision, all at once.

How is PR put into practice?
A PR program typically follows four steps: listening to the organization and its stakeholders; building the message architecture; executing through media relations, events and content; and finally measuring through reach, sentiment and share of voice. In Turkey, “PR” and “halkla ilişkiler” (public relations) are used interchangeably; today the term describes a broader framework that also covers digital PR and corporate communications.
