What is Public Relations?
Public relations is the management function that enables an organization to build an ongoing relationship with society, the media and its stakeholders based on mutual understanding. The goal is not a one-off announcement but building trust, reputation and public support over the long term. In Turkey, “halkla ilişkiler” (public relations) is used synonymously with the abbreviation PR.

How is public relations put into practice?
The discipline brings together public opinion research, media relations, corporate social responsibility, crisis management and stakeholder communications. A public relations agency is the specialist team that plans and executes this function on an organization’s behalf; the term “PR agency” describes the same service.
